This indenture made the sixth day of June eighteen hundred & nine between Reuben Y Langston Sheriff of the County of Columbia & State aforesaid of the one part and John Germany Sen of the County and State aforesaid of the other part[.] Witnesseth that by virtue of four writs of Feri Facias (??) And from under the hand and Seal of William Jones Esquire of Columbia County bearing date the twenty fourth of January eighteen hundred & nine at the suit of Charles C. Cousins against Washington Germany and John Germany Jnr which was levied by Jesse Roberts Constable upon two hundred acres of Land the property of John Germany Junr and return thereof made to us which after being duly advertised according to Law I did expose to Sale at public Auction on the sixth day of June eighteen hundred & nine at the Court house of the County aforesaid where John Germany Senr. Became the highest bidder it was knocked off to him for the sum of one hundred dollars. Now this Indenture witnesseth I Reuben Y Langston Sheriff for and in consideration of the aforesaid sum of one hundred dollars tot me in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt wehreof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargian and sell to the said John Germany Senr his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of Land containing two hu ndred acres more or Less Situate lying and being in Columbia County adjoining Richard Eubanks and Griffin with all and Singular the rights manners(?) and appurtenances thereunto belonging as or in any wise appertaining and all the right title and interest which the said John Germany Senr of rights has of in and to the same To have and to hold the said tract of Land an all and Singular the premises above mentioned to the said John Germany Sen his heirs and assigns forever and fully and absolutely as I Reuben Y Langston Sheriff might could or ought to grant, bargain & sell the same.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my han and Seal the day and date above written.
