    Abstract of Land Deed (2nd District Perry County, Book B1 p. 290), 16 September 1907
    J.M. Dees & his wife Hattie Dees deeded the following land to J.T. Clearman for $600 (with $150 paid up front and three installments of $150 due in 1898, 1899, and 1900):
    "...the N 1/2 of NW 1/4 of Sec 31, Tp 5 N R 13 W. Also five acres lying in the North-west corner of SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec 31, Tp 5 N R 13 W. Said land lying and being in the County of Perry and State of Mississippi."
    The deed was signed 20 December 1897 but it is recorded in the deed books with a file date of 16 September 1907.
    Abstract of Land Patent, Certificate 44081, 1 April 1899
    James I. Clearman of Marion County, MS, registered land at the Jackson, MS land office on 1 April 1899 The land is described as the following:
    the South half of the South East quarter of Section three and the North half of the North East quarter of Section 10 in Township four North of Range fifteen West of St. Stepehns Meridian in Mississippi, containing one hundred and sixty acres and sixty seven hundreths of an acre.

    The US government at the land office in Jackson granted 171 acres of land to Stephen W. Giles:
    "...the North East quarter of Section eighteen in Township five North of Range fourteen West of St. Stephens Meridian in Mississippi..."

    Abstract of Land Deed (2nd District Perry County, Book I p. 169), 6 October 1899
    J.T. Clearman conveyed a right of way to the Gulf & Ship Island Railroad Company for $25. The conveyance included 25 feet on either side of the track. His lands were bounded on the south by O.H.P. Jones and on the north by W.J. Mixon.
    Abstract of Right of Way (2nd District Perry County, Book I, p. 173), 6 October 1899
    In exchange for $50, S.W. Giles and C.E. Rich granted to Gulf & Ship Island Rail Road "...a right of way across our lands 25 feet each way from the center of said railroad track, the right of way crosses a part of the land owned by us in Section 32 Township 5 N Range 13 West, all in 2nd District of Perry County, Mississippi."
    Abstract of Land Deed (2nd District Perry County, Book I, p. 373), 21 December 1899
    C.E. Rich deeded to S.W. Giles for $175 the following land:
    "...The East half of the E 1/2 of S.W. 1/4 & E 1/2 of SE 1/4 of N.W. 1/4 of Section 32 Tp 5 N R 13 W. said land lying and being in the County of Perry & State of Mississippi."
    Abstract of Land Deed of Trust (2nd District Perry County, Book I, p. 544-545), 16 February 1900
    S.W. Giles and M.J. Giles named S.E. Travis as trustee for a Deed of Trust to R. Young for a $350 debt. The land reserved as collateral was the following:
    "...The East 1/2 of the E 1/2 of the SW 1/4 and the E 1/2 of SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 32, Tp 5 N, Range 13 W, County of Perry and State of Mississippi. It is also understood and agreed that the said S.W. and M.J. Giles are to transfer to the said R. Young as further security a certain deed of trust on the property described as the W 1/2 of the E1/2 of the SW 1/4 and the W 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 32 Pt 5 N. Range 13 W, County of Perry, State of Mississippi, from T.A. Cahal as soon as said deed of trust is received by said S.W. Giles and M.J. Giles."

    Handwriting in the margin shows that R. Young cleared the debt on December 4, 1900, just 10 months after the deed.
    Abstract of Land Deed of Trust (2nd District Perry County, Book K, p. 109-110), 27 October 1900
    S.W. Giles and M.J. Giles named S.E. Travis as trustee for a Deed of Trust to Fannie Husbands for a debt of $200 on open account. The land reserved as collateral was the following:
    "...East half of East half of South west fourth and East half of South East fourth of North West fourth Section thirty-two Township five N. Range 13 West. All in 2d District, Perry County, Miss. and the following agricultural products now growing and to be grown by me on my farm in Perry County, Mississippi: the year 1901, to wit: My entire crop of cotton, corn and any other agricultural products grown by me or under my control."

    Handwriting in the margin shows that Fannie Husbands cleared the debt and released the lein on January 25, 1904.
    Abstract of Land Deed (2nd District Perry County, Book K p. 452), 25 January 1901
    J.T. Clearman deeds the following land to T.A. Clearman for one dollar:"...N.W. of NW4, & five acres in the N.W. corner of SW4 of NW4 in Section thirty-one (31) Township five (5) North of Range thirteen (13) W. Said land situated in he County of Perry & State of Mississippi."
    *Though the deed does not mention this, T.A. is the wife of J.T.
    Abstract of Land Deed (2nd District Perry County, Book N, p. 184), 23 September 1901
    S.W. and M.J. Giles, sold to J.J. Newman Lumber Company the following land for $425:
    "...North-east quarter (NE 1/4) of Section eighteen (18) in township five (5) North, of Range fourteen (14) West of St. Stephens Meridian in Mississippi containing one hundred and seventy one acres, more or less"

    J.T. & T.A. Clearman, husband & wife, deed land in Perry County, MS to Viola Clearman for $50 cash in hand:
    "Beginning 110 yds, East of the North west corner of the NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Sec. 31, Township 5 North of Range 13 West, and run East 165 yds, then ce [thence] South 440 yds, thence West 165 yards and thence North 440 yds to p oint of beginning, containing 15 acres."
    *Viola is their daughter (not mentioned in deed)

    J.T. & T.A. Clearman, husband & wife, deed land in Perry County, MS to Emma Parker for $50 cash in hand:
    "Beginning at North east corner of NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section 31, Township 5 North of Range 13 West, and run West 165 yds, thence South 440 yds, thence East 165 yds, and thence North 440 yds to point of beginning, containing 15 acres."
    *Emma is their daughter (not mentioned in deed)

    J.T. & T.A. Clearman, husband & wife, deed land in Perry County, MS to Amanda Tucker for $50 cash in hand:
    "Beginning at North west corner of NW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section 31, Township 5 North of Range 13 West, and run East 110 yds, thence South 440 yds, thence West 165 yds and thence North 440 yds, to point of beginning, containing ten acres. Also five (5) acres in the North west corner of SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of said Sec. 31, Tp 5 North of Range 13 West, making an aggregate of 15 acres."
    *Amanda is their daughter (not mentioned in deed)
    Abstract of Land Deed (2nd District Perry County, Book C1 p. 27), 7 December 1907
    James I. Clearman deeds land to T.A. Cahal for $300: "...my one half (1/2) interest in the following described land, situate in the County of of [sic] Perry, State of Mississippi, to-wit: All that part of the East half of the East half of the South west, [sic] Quarter of Section 32, Township 5, North Range 13 West; Lying south of the Gulf & Ship Island Rail Road Right of way."
    *NOTE: T.A. Cahal was his wife's 1st cousin. (not mentioned in deed)
