2009 State Tournament Report The Minnesota BASS Federation Nation held its annual Tournament of Champions on September 9 and 10 on Pokegama Lake. Fishing the tournament were 148 anglers representing 33 teams. Snatcherdom was well represented. We sent seven current Snatchers, as well as several former members. Leading the way was Mark Munson finishing in 11th place and earning a spot on the 2010 Minnesota Divisional Team. The Divisional Tournament will be next August on Lake Michigan. He will be fishing for a spot at the National Tournament and ultimately a Shot at the Bassmaster Classic. Well done Mark. There were several of us who narrowly missed qualifying but managed to finish in the top 20 and earn a lovely plaque: Dennis Lothspeich 14th, Chuck Steinbauer 18th, and Nate Steinbauer at 19th. Just missing the wood was Bill Ludenia at 21st. On the team side we also did well. The DH Bassmaters (Ludenia, Ruff, Munson and Lothspeich) were the second place team earning another lovely plaque and the respect and admiration of all in attendance. The BBS team (Chuck, Nate, & Allen Steinbauer plus Chuck Johansen) came in fourth. No plaque but still earning a fair amount of respect and admiration. All in all a great week and a lot of fun.
