FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

This is where we hopefully address all your questions as to who we are, what we're about, and what you can expect in working with us. Not only once we hopefully accept your project, but the submission guidelines so vital for us to get the best first impression of what you have to offer. If you still haven't gotten your question answered, please feel free to go to our Contact form, or send an email to a member of our staff on the About Us page.

Q: How do I submit a manuscript for consideration of publication?

A: Please fill out the Submission form, and include the following information as a query letter: a brief bio of yourself; the premise of your novel; a synopsis of the story (including the ending), and the first three pages of the novel. Also include the genre of your story, and the intended audience.

Q: How long does it take for you to get back after reviewing the information?

A: Depending on the backlog of other work and the level of interest, usually no more than 2-3 weeks. Please be patient in the meantime, and accept any constructive criticism we have to offer. We can only speak about what appeals to us, but also what we have experienced, after nearly a decade in publishing.

Q: How long does it take to get a product ready to sell, and how long before it shows up on Amazon?

A: It really depends on how market ready your book, CD or DVD happens to be. A book must be edited, so it takes usually 2 to 3 months, depending on the work involved, and the cooperation between you and our staff. CDs and DVDs can be readied in 1-2 months, since it is either acceptable as submitted to us, and requires only cover and liner art.

Q: Do you offer an advance, what is your commission rate, and how often do you pay?

A: We offer no advance to our authors, musicians and videographers. On the other hand, we charge nothing back to you for editing, laying out your book's interior, or even in the cover design. We involve you in every aspect of the production of the product, and pay a healthy 35% of the profits back to you. We pay your sales commission by the middle of the month following that of the payment for the sales reflected in them. This is due to our having to wait for payment until the end of the month after the sales.

Q: Do you work under a contract, or have exclusive rights to my book?

A: We are a traditional, albeit independent publishing house. We have a standard contract which has been deemed fair and even favorable to our authors. We do retain exclusive rights to publish the title you enter into agreement with us, for a period of one year from the signing date of the contract. Afterwards, we may continue the agreement, until either party wishes to dissolve the contract.

Q: Can I buy copies of my books at a reduced rate, in order to sell them at a profit myself?

A: Certainly! We hope that you will take advantage of our unique ability for you to take copies of your books to signings, or to sell or give away to friends and family. The only difference is that you do not receive commissions on books you buy for yourself. You pay wholesale prices for your own books, marked up only slightly over our cost, along with shipping.

Q: What about promotions, book signings and other media events?

A: We are working towards means of promotion and marketing of our titles and authors, but the primary responsibility of getting your name recognition built up and increasing the sales visibility of your novel is you. This is true for every author, no matter how big the name or the publisher. We are here to help you, and are learning our way around this aspect of publishing, as well.

Q: Why do you only sell your books, music and videos through Amazon.com?

A: We are not a large outfit, and consider ourselves a launching pad for our authors, composers and film makers. By publishing through our partnership with Amazon's digital services, we can concentrate on other aspects of our catalog than the sales and distribution of its products. The model has changed for the POD (Print/Publish on Demand) market. One of our authors has been contacted by a major publisher concerning his books, while another has had agents inquire about his unpublished title.

Q: What if I am looking to place a CD or DVD with you?

A: We do not record music or edit film ourselves, but look for you to bring us a finished product. What we do is arrange the replication and digitization of your CD or DVD, to enable it to be sold or downloaded through our partnership with Amazon.com. We will help with the creation of the packaging, i.e. cover art and liner notes. We have already signed our first musician, and still negotiating for our first film.
