When can I make roster moves?

You may e-mail me with an intent to make a transaction or re-order your roster at any time, and it's first-come, first-serve for free agents. However, all moves will go into effect only on Mondays. Do not make any free agent moves on Commissioner.Com... this site is only used to compile stats on game days.

How do I claim a free agent?

Recall there are 3 types of FA contracts in season.

If you just e-mail me to say you want to claim a player, he will get a 2-week contract. There is no limit to 2-week contracts, BUT you have to have either 15 players on your active roster after signing the player OR have an ROS contract available. The contract expires in 2 weeks after the Monday it takes effect. If you don't e-mail me to tell me you don't want him after those 2 weeks, the contract automatically renews for another 2 weeks. After 4 weeks, lack of notification results in release of the player to the waiver wire, EXCEPT if the release would drop the roster to less than 14 players. If this is the case, you MUST use one of your ROS contracts to maintain the player and the 14-player limit. 2-week contract players have a salary of $200K.

2-week contracts are the only GBL player contract that is not guaranteed.  You may release any player on a 2-week contract without a cap penalty.

You have 3 Rest-Of-Season contracts available for the year. You may sign a player directly to an ROS deal, you may switch a 2-week player to an ROS deal, or (as outlined above) a 2-week player may automatically become an ROS player. ROS players are signed for the season, and you don't have to worry about their contract expiring after the year. Their salary is $500K.

ROS contracts are guaranteed, so if you cut a player signed to an ROS contract, you will be responsible for 20% ($100K) under the current year cap. You do not regain the use of ROS contracts by cutting players signed to them.

The NBA All-Star game is the deadline for signing free agents. After this time, only players placed on their NBA team's IL can be replaced with a free agent. No free agents may be signed after the end of the GBL regular season.

How does the injury list work?

Any player who has missed their last 2 NBA team's games may be placed on his GBL team's injury list. A GBL team can only carry 2 players on their injury list at one time. If a player on a GBL IL is noted to have participated in his NBA team's most recent game, he will be automatically activated the coming Monday and the player with the lowest salary on the GBL team will be waived (if the activation results in more than 15 players on the roster), unless the GBL team notifies me to release a different player.
