The Minnesota Renaissance Festival Opened this weekend!
Whoo hoo the first weekend of the Renaissance Festival opened on saturday! It was a great time as always. I managed to get in touch with a lot of old friends and meet a few new people. I worked a lot and brought back some old bits I used to do (such as being a privy diver). Another friend from years back (Blair) and I managed to come up with a great new bit. It was mainly greeting people as they would go into the privies and also ask them how it all went on their way out. This is a fairly simple bit but it managed to amuse us for at least a couple of hours over the weekend. While there we performed greetings, privy rescues, tried to sell privy merchandise in a shop that didn't exist, and even conducted tests of the emergency privy system.
Hopefully any of the people involved in the bit somewhat against their wishes were okay with everything. People seemed to find it humourous so that was good. It's amazing how much fun a little blue koolaid and a long chunk of rope can actually be. Whoever said that great fun had to be expensive.
