These pictures are from my first year working in the Bemidji State University theatre department. On these two shows I worked on set construction and also on the running crew. The first picture is the set for "Three Sisters." The set for this show was designed by Robert Scriba. My major accomplishment on this set are the birch trees that you can barely see through the windows. People seeing them up close wondered why we cut them down, though in reality they were a combination of cardboard, joint compound, sawdust and paint.
This next picture is the major portion of the set for the BSU production of "Once Upon a Mattress." This set was designed by Steve Pauna. On this show I began to take on a lot more responsiblity and moved up to assistant stage manager. There were quite a few large scenic piece that were used in this production including a large birdcage and of course the bed with over 20 mattresses.
