Finally, the show that we were supposed to see way back in October 2001. The terrorist attacks changed the date of this show to five months later in February 2002. I must say that I wasn't thrilled to see the legendary Judas Priest playing a shithole like this place. One good thing is that it was big and held a couple thousand people. There was a good-size crowd on hand to see the Metal Gods.

Anthrax opened the show, (legends in their own right) by playing some of their best and heaviest material! I was impressed and blown away. I've seen them with John Bush before and they were good, but this time they were better. Good set by them, they picked some of the strongest songs in their catalog, including : Among The Living / Inside Out / Fueled / Anti-Social / Only / Room For One More / Bring The Noise / Got The Time / Caught In A Mosh / Superhero (New Song). Great job by Anthrax to pump the crowd up and keep the new album promotions to a minimum.

Judas Priest kicked our ass from start to finish. With a minimum of stage props and lighting, they just came out on stage and played one classic right after another. You can't ask for anything better than that. Ripper Owens was in top form. His voice could peel paint from the wall and make your ears bleed. Simply the best vocalist in the world. His power and range are unmatched. How he can do that at every show and not lose his voice is amazing. Trust me when I say this folks: Rob won't be back anytime soon. We saw the band back in 1998 on the Jugulator tour and they were even better this time. We were close enough to shake their hands this time, so it made it even more special. They also played a few rare ones for us like "United," "Turbo Lover" and "Heading Out To The Highway!" Check out the setlist, (not in exact order):

Metal Gods
Heading Out To The Highway
A Touch of Evil
The Green Manalishi
Blood Stained
Diamonds and Rust
Victim of Changes
Desert Plains
Hell Is Home
Beyond The Realms of Death
Turbo Lover
United
Burn In Hell
One On One
Painkiller
Hell Bent For Leather
Breaking The Law
The Hellion/Electric Eye
Very good set and an awesome show. Judas Priest are playing very limited dates in the US, so if you get the chance, definitely go to this show!
P.S. Look out for the asshole T-shirt guy...what a dick!
