| Seven Witches is one of Jack Frost's many bands. If you don't know who Jack Frost is, he's a vagabond guitarist who's been in several bands such as Bronx Casket Co., Metalium, Seven Witches and now Savatage. (Seven Witches being his main band. I think.) I had a chance to meet Jack last year and let me say he is one hell of a cool guy. XILED TO INFINITY AND ONE is the band's third album (I think), following the mediocre SECOND WAR IN HEAVEN and the pretty good CITY OF LOST SOULS. Well, guess what? XILED dusts everything else the band has ever done! This is just great straight up Heavy Metal. The kind of CD you just put in and let it play to the end. Every song is great.
The album was mixed by the ubiquitous Joey Vera, who has joined the band as bassist since the album was released, replacing Billy Mez. This is a cool line up: Jack Frost on guitar, Joey Vera on bass, Destiny's End drummer Brian Craig and vocalist Wade Black (formerly of Crimson Glory). I think this is Wade's first appearance since the Crimson Glory classic album ASTRONOMICA. He's in top form and sounds as good as he did a few years ago. I'm not going into detail of every song on the album, but let me say that any real Metal fan will like this stuff. My favorite songs are "Metal Tyrant," "Salvation," "Anger's Door," "Eyes of an Angel" and the title track, which is probably my favorite. Jack Frost likes to do a cover song on every album, and this time it's a shredding performance of Grim Reaper's "See You In Hell." Also, Savatage's Jon Oliva and Annihilator's Joe Comeau make guest appearances. What can I say...I really like this album. It's worth the money. DISCOGRAPHY:
