WARRIOR – THE CODE OF LIFE
2001 Nuclear Blast
If you are a Heavy Metal fan, you should own this album. What makes it so special? For starters, vocalist Rob Rock, who replaces Parramore McCarty. He can do no wrong in my opinion. I own nearly everything he has sang on (nearly 20 years), and he always gives an amazing performance, but---this is an exception. Here Rock takes it to the next level. The first three songs, "Day of Reckoning," Kill The Machine" and "Standing" make up one of the greatest 1-2-3 punches I've heard in a long time. If these tracks don't get your blood flowing and your head banging, check your pulse, you may be dead. If the rest of the album sucked, I would still recommend this one, but fortunately it doesn't! The entire album rules. Joe Floyd's guitars are stellar and the rest of the band rocks. The production by Warren Croyle and Joe Floyd is also worth noting, as this is one of the better sounding albums you'll hear this year. Hard to believe this is only the third release ever by Warrior!
