I grew up in the Midwest, and I came to the South to obtain a Ph.D. in math. In addition to the degree, I acquired a math professor. After retiring early from my own career as a math professor at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, I turned to creative writing. My published works in both fiction and creative nonfiction appear on these pages. A couple of short stories have won awards in writing competitions, and my story “Dixie Dawn” was a finalist in the prestigious Black Warrior Review Fiction Contest. The “Auburn version” of my short story, “My Sister, A Girl,” has been anthologized in Chinaberries and Crows.
I live in Auburn with my one husband (the above-mentioned math professor) and two cats. I love massage and meditation and swimming.
