A - kX Project-Short Introduction
I won't explain all the details of how to create a custom DSP using kX. Other users have already covered
that subject so if you don't know how to do it, you can read up at these sites:

You will need to download a plugin to make this whole DSP thing much simpler.
ProFX for 3534f or 3544a
. Read the whole page before you download so you know a bit about the whole subject.

Alright, now you know how to add some plugins. Now we need to create 2 basic DSPs. One is for your CLIENT card and
the other is for your HOST card.
Keep in mind that you don't have to have 2 kX compatible cards to tie them together with a DSP cable. If you have a different
brand of card with an SPDIF output or input, in many cases, the connection will work.
The CLIENT card DSP setup is pretty simple for the 2 card setup. We are just sending the analog inputs from the
CLIENT card over to the HOST card via SPDIF outs and ins. Refer to the
kX Client DSP for 3534f.
Currently ProFX for 3544a is not working 100% so a couple of modifications have to be made if you are using
XP / Vista and 3544a with ProFX
kX Client DSP for 3544a.
The Line in of the Client card is routed to the Rear out of the k2lt plugin. Refer back to the
SPDIF diagram
and you will see there is a bluish / purplish SPDIF cable going from pins 27, 28 (Digital Rear) of the Client
Card. This corresponds to the Line in routed to the Rear out of the DSP. The other connector of that
SPDIF card goes into an SPDIF in the Host Card at pins 5, 6 (Z Video I2S In). See the
kX Host DSP for 3534f
Or
kX Host DSP for 3544a.
The Green cable shown in the SPDIF diagram can be traced in a similar way. The orange cable, as I said before is not
being used for anything at the moment. It is just there to demonstrate another SPDIF connection from the Client Card
to the Host Card.
The Aux Inputs shown in the ADC plugins of both the Host and Client cards are utilizing a second converter to enable an extra
stereo analog input in both cards. That connection is explained in another webpage:
