ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP DAY IN HIGHLAND

Early each May Highland Lions participate in an area-wide cleanup day. Many civic organizations and other volunteers worked on this massive effort. Discarded items are brought by thousands of area residents to the Highland High School parking lot. Hazardous materials is collected and disposed of in an appropriate manner. A team of Lions combs the city for discarded large items--like home appliances--which residents are not able to transport to the school themselves.
