32 girls and 4 teams, the league regularly has 150 girls and 11
teams. In addition there are 4 select teams that play girls from
other towns. The local lions furnish uniforms, referees, scorers
and when needed coaches. Lions also sponsor tournaments and work
at concession stands and ticket windows. Games are played at the
Highland Weinheimer Gym or the Korte Recreation Center

ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANUP DAY IN
HIGHLAND
Early each May Highland Lions
participate in an area-wide cleanup day. Many civic organizations
and other volunteers worked on this massive effort. Discarded
items are brought by thousands of area residents to the Highland
High School parking lot. Hazardous materials is collected and
disposed of in an appropriate manner. A team of Lions combs the
city for discarded large items--like home appliances--which
residents are not able to transport to the school
themselves.

CONTINUING PRESENCE IN HIGHLAND
The Lions built, installed and
continue to maintain park benches on the square and at Hoffman
Park. They also planted all of the trees at Glik Park.
