LETTER TO CHINESE ADOPTION ORGANIZATION
Dear Sir or Maam, We, Devin Somerton (Born in Los Angeles, California on 11 July 1970) and Linda Somerton (Born in Jersey City, New Jersey on 12 July 1973), both of us are U.S. Citizens; we have been married for over 12 Years. We respectively request the honor and privilege to adopt a baby girl from your beautiful country. Our adopted daughter will have everything that a biological child has. It will be as if our daughter was born to us.
Having a child of our own has been our dream since we got married, because of previous attempts to try and build a loving family we decided we would like to pursue adoption and give a child a good home. We decided on China to adopt because we both love the country and culture, we would love to be able to bring your culture into our household, we are so excited to be able to learn your culture and be able to teach our daughter were she came from. There are so many children that need a good and permanent home and we hope to be one of the lucky families.
We would like our daughter to know us as her mother and father from her earliest perception and memories, and we deeply feel it is essential to her happiness and security. We would like to bring her into our loving and caring home as early in her life as we possible can, so we all can share in the joy of becoming a family as soon as possible. Therefore, we are respectively requesting a healthy infant between the ages of birth to twelve months of age. We hope to adopt a child as young as possible.
Our daughter will have the opportunity to learn and grow up in a real good environment, we believe education is the key to success, and we will ensure she gets a real good education which will include educating her on Chinese heritage. She will also be able to make her own decisions when she grows up, she will have her own mind and we will support whatever decisions she makes. Whatever she wants to be when she grows up we will support her.
Adoption is a very precious gift, and when we hear things about parents abusing their kids it makes us feel real upset. We will NEVER hurt, abandon or mistreat our daughter; she will have the best loving parents, as a family we will all be learning from one another.
If we are fortunate enough to be able to share our lives with that of a daughter from china, we will devote everything we have to making her life full of love, joy and happiness. We thank you with all our hearts for considering us as adoptive parents, and for helping to make our dreams of a family come true.
