APRIL 2005
OFFICERS:  PRESIDENT-MIKE BRENNER  VICE PRESIDENT-JIM STOOPS
SECRETARY-MIKE LOTZ  TREASURER-LARRY FREY

AND OF COURSE WALT HUBERT

“Greetings from Chapter 64”- Another month has gone by and here we are the first of May. The Fly-In season officially started 2 weeks ago with the annual pilgrimage to Sun-n-Fun. This was my first year attending the Florida Air Show. I flew commercial from Mid-America Airport on Trans-Meridian Airlines. This is a venue I highly recommend. From push back at the Mid America gate to sitting in my rental car in Sanford, FL was 2 hours and 15 minutes. The parking is free at Mid America and when flying from small airport to small airport, the hassles are greatly reduced. My round trip ticket with 3 Days of a rental car was $231. Would have been cheaper if I wouldn't have traveled on the weekend. DON'T FORGET THE MARCH MEETING IS AT THE DUTCHMAN AIRPORT! FOOD AT 6:00. PROVIDED BY WAYLAND AND LUAN DOWNEN. (PROBABLY MORE LUAN)
The April minutes are as follows: 26 members and guests present.
March 2, 2004 Downtown Airport Called to order: 7:10

Secretary’s Report: Waived due to newsletter mailing PLEASE LET US KNOW IF SOMEONE IS NOT RECEIVING THE NEWSLETTER. OBVIOUSLY, THEY ARE NOT GETTING IT SO THEY CANNOT TELL US, SO PLEASE ASK ALL MEMBERS YOU COME IN CONTACT WITH.
Treasurer’s Report: No report, although Larry is finally back in town. He will have a full report at the May meeting.
Correspondence: Mike Brenner had a letter of invitation to a work party at Oshkosh. They will provide room and board. They can use all types of help. You don't have to be smart, or have a good back, just enjoy being around airplane people. Call Mike Brenner at 939-7574 if you need info. It is also posted on the bulletin board. Mike Lotz had a flyer for the Salute to Veteran's Celebration. See Things To Do Section.
Old Business: Henry was present and stated he will talk to Norm concerning the purchase of our tug. More at the May meeting.
Larry said he will call the BD5 guy. The airplane is still not moved. We will try to get done soon. Larry also said that the Chapter kit fox raffle is over. No one won due to minimal ticket sales. 1800 tickets were required and only 800 were sold. They made a ton of money and only had to give away half.
New Business: Bob Boelling's airplane is for sale. It is a Zenith Zodiak 601 with a 912 Rotax engine. We think it could be had for in the neighborhood of $25,000. Call Bob McDaniel if you are interested.
Bill Florich said that the Parks College is offering the Kitty Hawk building for $1.00 a year. He said that Chapter 64 should put a person on the museum Board of Directors. It was agreed this was a good idea. If anyone is interested, please state your intentions at the next meeting. Larry told of his month trip in which he went to 5 aircraft museums: The Dayton Airforce Museum, The Kentucky Museum of Aviation, one in Savannah, Georga, The 8th Air Force Museum, and Werner Robins Air Force Museum.
