Correspondences: November 4 & 5, 2006 in Bloomington, IL (BMI), EAA Chapter 129 will be hosting Bob Nuckolls presenting the Aeroelectric seminar for homebuilders. Bob is considered by many to be THE authority on designing and wiring electrical systems in experimental aircraft. Check out Bob’s website www.aeroelectric.com for more information regarding the seminar, and what you will learn. You can also sign up for the class on the website, and order a copy of his book for use as a textbook for the class, and it is also a great reference book for those questions you have when you get home. We look forward to this seminar, and seeing you at our hanger November 4 & 5.

Superflite is holding a fall fabric covering seminar Saturday, September 30th from 9 am to 4 pm at the Greenville, IL airport. The cost is $50 per person, and that includes lunch and a $25 Superflite gift certificate. All materials will be provided.

Old Business: We decided we will wait until it cools off to work on BD5.

New Business: There is a KR2 available. It was donated to SWIC for the maintenance program. They decided since it is not a certified aircraft they cannot use it in their program. Aircraft is complete, VW2100 engine, nothing missing, 60% build completed. We told them yes we will take it. Now, what to do with it? We could make it a project or sell it whole or for parts.

It is a 2 seat side by side taildragger. Walt suggested we store it at Shafer along with some other planes. It would be a good place to finish it as there are tools and room to work on it.

Motion made and seconded to accept the donation of the KR2.

Mike has the 601 wings done and tail feathers done.

Waylon told of brake repair on his Cessna 172. During disassembly he found the disc was badly rusted, almost all the way thru in some places. Needless to say he replaced a lot of parts. Everything is in good shape again.
