"Greetings from Chapter 64"-Here we are a few days into Fall although we had a very mild summer, the air is beginning to get crisp and airplane performance will be at its finest.  Good flying weather abounds and the view will be great for those who are able to get aloft.  Please come to the October meeting at Jim Stoop's hangar.  We have old and new things to discuss.  October also brings the 75th anniversary of  Parks Downtown Airport.  If you did not receive an invitation to the after hours event on October 21st, mark your calendar and we will discuss further at the October meeting.  We have another large donation to discuss at the October meeting so come out and hear what's new!

The September minutes are as follows: 
March 2, 2004   Downtown Airport    Called to order: 7:00  21 members and guests present.  Officers present:  Larry Frey, Jay Lewis, and Mike Lotz.

Secretary's Report:  Waived due to newsletter mailing

Treasurer's Report:  As of  9/6/04, club balance is 13,796.78 with $1000 still available for Young Eagles fuel, courtesy of the PARX Foundation. Downtown Airport Meeting room fee for July 18th thru August 16th, $78.27.

Correspondence:  Jay had flyers for two fly-ins.  One is the Southeast Fall Fly-In in Lebanon, Tennessee and the Creve Couer Fly-In.  Sorry I don't have the dates.

Old Business: Curt called handyman Bob about a month ago concerning the New Athens roof.  Bob said he will try to get to it soon and Curt has another call in for him.  Mike mentioned that he knows a guy named Andre that is good at anything and works very cheap in case Bob cannot get to it this time.  Bob Mc Daniels said he would get the membership drive letters out soon. 

New Business: Bob mentioned that long time waitress at Olivers--Bobbi Hayes passed away suddenly of a stroke on Sunday, September 5th.  The Chapter prayers are with her family.  Larry stated that quite a few people are asking for small Chapter shirts.  These are unavailable through our current vendor.  Although you can purchase your own shirt and he will have the gal complete with our logo.

Meeting Schedule
October meeting will be at Jim Stoop's hangar on October 5th.   Jim will provide the food.  November meeting to be held back at the meeting room.  Walt said that it would be nice to have some people fly in to the meeting at Jim's.  Jim's address is 2153 Cloverleaf School Road, take 59th Street, go west on Townhall Road and south on Cloverleaf School--Phone # is 234-8503.

Committee Reports

Librarian- Bob McDaniels donated 5 CDs containing FAA publications including FAR's, AD's, and general regulations.  Four of these CDs are up
for grabs for members to keep.  One is to stay in the library.

Technical Advisor-None

Program Director- Nothing yet

Flight Advisor-None

Young Eagles- Please come out Saturday, October 9th to Downtown Airport.  We think we are going to have overflow capacity.  We'll need pilots, ground crew, and general help.  Bob stated we are cancelling Young Eagles flights for the 21st though.

Projects-No members reporting although a guest, Curt Baldwin said he is building a RV-6.  Hopefully he will become a member and give us updates.

50/50 Drawing-Doc Hurd pocketed 15 tax free dollars with $14 going to the club.
