OFFICERS: PRESIDENT-JAY LEWIS VICE PRESIDENT-JIM STOOPS
SECRETARY-MIKE LOTZ TREASURER-LARRY FREY
AND OF COURSE WALT HUBERT
"Greetings
from Chapter 64"- Hello to all fellow members and spouses. Please check out our new website at
http://eaa64.org Bob McDaniel has
volunteered to maintain
this site. Now he needs our help. Please send photos of your planes and/or
projects
to Bob at dusterpilot@charter.net or mail to Bob McDainel Director, St.
Louis
Downtown Airport 1680 Sauget Industrial Parkway, Sauget, IL 62206-1449.
The
October minutes are as follows: October
5th 2004, Called to
order: 7:00 at Jim Stoop's hangar. 24
members present. Thanks to Betsy Stoops
for the great chili,
it really warmed our stomachs.
Secretary's
Report: Waived due to newsletter
mailing
Treasurer's
Report: As of 10/4/04 we have a
balance
of $13,977.04.
Correspondence:
Mike brought an article from AOPA magazine touting the terrific job
employees
of Fostaire Helicopters did when confronted with a liberal media
station, NBC's
attempt to make general aviation look bad.
If you didn't read the story, 2 men posing as shifty characters
attempted to rent a helicopter while carrying suspicious contraband in
their
luggage. Authorities were called and
this fiasco was averted.
Old
Business: Curt asked Mike to call Andre Ledee to go take a look
at the New
Athens roof. Mike did so and Andre
found a hole in the roof near the church building.
We should have an estimate from Andre at the November meeting to
further fix this problem.
<>
New
Business: Bob McDaniel said he helped secure a donation from
Midcoast Aviation
of an aircraft tug. This tug has a
blown engine and is in need of some restoring but should be worth
1000-2500
depending on how much work we want to do on it. Norm
Walters Jr. from Ozark Air has graciously allowed us to keep
it in Hangar One where we can work on it at our leisure.
We need to set a work date at the November
meeting and stick to it so we are not overstaying our welcome in Hangar
One.
It was decided that the Holiday
Party will
be the 3rd Saturday in January. More on
this later.
<>
Meeting
Schedule: November
meeting will be at Downtown Airport on November 2nd .
Food at 6:00. Meeting at 7:00.
I am not sure who is cooking because I neglected to pick up the
sign up
sheet at Jim's hangar. Jim, if you have
this or if anyone will own up to volunteering, please call or email
Mike, Jay,
or Larry.
