“Greetings from Chapter 64”- Fall is in the air, and although the leaf color change is late this year, the flying weather is really good. Airplanes love the cool weather so get out and exercise them regularly.
The October minutes are as follows:
October 4th, 2005 Dutchman Airport Called to order: 7:10 26 members present.
Thanks Wally and Thurm for the burgers. They were so good, I had two. (Hope
I didn’t miss any helpers.)
Secretary’s Report: Waived due to newsletter mailing
Treasurer’s Report: As far as we can tell, the club balance is $15,615.00 with $283.00 left in the YE fuel fund. A motion was made and passed to put all of the proceeds from our soda sales at the open house into the YE fuel fund. Thanks again Maggie for donating your whole day to selling soda. Also incoming was a check for $200.00 from Ozark Air Services for the purchase of a tug. Alas, no more mention of the tug in future newsletters! Larry’s computer was down and as of this date I have not received a treasurer’s report. I’m sure Larry will have one available at the November meeting. DON’T FORGET THE NOVEMBER MEETING IS AT MIKE LOTZ’S BARN.
Correspondence: Someone had the annual financial statement from EAA. This document is available on the website and the EAA publications.
Old Business: The BD-5 was brought up and it was decided that
we would move it to Mike’s barn for the November meeting. We also set
a work party for the next Tuesday, October 11th where we would get a handle
on what’s in the cards.
The hangar situation is still in limbo. Mike only had calls from people wanting
to rent hangars not buy them. Bob also stated he had not heard from the 60
by 80 guys either. He said he would call them and find out their situation.
New Business: 3 new members and one potential new member were present. The
club welcomes Todd Drenkhahn, Jerry and Sandy Wade, and we certainly hope
that Dave Edgar will join the fold. Walt said that he has sold the SE 5. He
sold it on ebay to a gentlemen from Halifax. He also said the guy wants to
buy a trailer when he gets here that he can use to haul the airplane North.
Mike said that his company has a 24 foot box trailer that they would love
to get rid of. Mike Brenner had the EAA Raffle Jacket and it was decided that
we will sell tickets for $5 each or 3 for $10. Larry said that he will try
to secure some tickets for said raffle.
Meeting Schedule: NOVEMBER MEETING WILL BE AT MIKE LOTZ’S
BARN WITH FOOD AT 6 AND MEETING AT 7 (ABBREVIATED VERSION) AND THEN WE CAN
ALL PITCH IN AND WORK ON THE BD-5. ALTHOUGH MIKE HAS A LARGE BARN, HE HAS
MOVED SOME OF HIS POSSESSIONS OUT TO MAKE ROOM FOR THIS CLUB PROJECT, THEREFORE
HE HOPES FOR A QUICK BUILD AND FINISH. PLEASE BRING CHAIRS. We need food volunteers.
Bob was scheduled for November but is moving to December. Please do not overlook
the food sign-up sheet and bite the bullet and please volunteer for food duty
at future meetings.
If you have not received a map of how to get here, please call Mike at 410-0335
or 257-8967 for directions.
