Young Eagles- We had a very successful Young Eagles Flight Saturday October
7th! The weather was picture perfect, one of those once a year days. We
had reservations for 34 Young Eagles, but somehow ended up flying 47!
This has never happened before, usually we lose a few. Had we known this
in advance we would have rounded up an additional pilot.
Doc Hurd had to leave early but did a flight (flew 3). Our other 3 pilots
were Bob McDaniel (flew 6), Wendi Sellers (flew 16) and Jerry Wade (flew
21). Thank you all and special congratulations to Wendi on her first ever
Young Eagles Rally flight!
Of course, we cannot have a safe and successful Rally without Ground crew, and we had a very capable crew for this flight. Jim Pauling, Mike Brenner, Larry Louiseau, and Terry Ernst insured that safety was the number one priority. Sandy Wade and Kathy Frey handled registration and overall kept things going smoothly.
Mid-way through the flights Wendi developed a soft right brake, and Hank Huckshold had the problem corrected in 15 minutes. Thanks Hank.
Looking forward to the next Young Eagles Rally for Chapter 64.
