The November minutes are as follows: November 7, Hangar One
Secretary’s Report: A motion was made to forego secretary’s report due to mailing of newsletter – motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Larry renewed an expired $12,921 certificate
of deposit at 5.25 percent for an 8 month period. Another CD is due in
January and another in February, Larry will get advance notices on these.
We received a check for $123 from Phillips petroleum as a refund for Young
Eagles fuel. Wrote a check for Young Eagles and had to buy a propane tank
of fuel for $47 and restocked fridge for total of $65, also $22 electric
for hangar 1. We had income of $132 from shirts and dues plus $95 for
sale of BD5. We still owe for scholarship. Balance - $29,172.00
Motion made and seconded to approve the treasurer’s report.
Correspondence: Mike received an appeal for the Annual EAA air academy to end a youth to their program– costs $2500. Walt got a phone call from someone with a tail number from a champ. We think he’s looking to find one to buy.
Old Business: A few members went and picked up the KR2 at SWIC. It’s now in Mike’s hangar at Sackman field. It has hangar rash , dirty and only a little more than 50% done. It has a VW engine w/o carb and has only ½ of the canopy. If anyone knows of anyone interested - the KR2 is for sale. Member Chris Carson is going to take some pictures and put it on ebay for sale.
New Business: The Holiday party has historically been held at Fischer’s in January in conjunction with the IPA. Mike will call Walt and get things started on this. Target date is the 20th of Jan.
The Midwest regional fly-in is being held May 4, 5 & 6 and an organizational committee is formed and meets regularly. They are looking for organizational sponsors and need a lot of volunteers.

Young Eagles- We may miss our target of 100 this year. We are around 86
as some of the kids flown at our events were flown by other chapters and
they get the credit for that.
Projects-Mike Benner has his engine now and firewall forward kit. He
is ready to get back to building again.
Larry has his engine now and it’s mounted. He is working on the
cowling.
Walt is getting closer and continues to make new parts.
There was a discussion of whether one should buy new or retreads for tire
replacement. It was a consensus that you should go with new and not retreads
for our recreational aircraft.
Kenny is getting ready to mate the wing to the fuse again on his P51 replica.
He may be putting it up for sale. It comes with a 500 HP V-8 engine.
Mark has fuselage half together and all the ribs are done on his Skybolt.
50/50 Drawing-Larry Frey won the drawing this month.
