Welcome to my Tailwind page. Just a little history on the Tailwind. An airplane designer named Steve Wittman came up with this design and first flown in 1953, and it’s had a great following since. The basic design still remains after almost 50 years. Some people feel this design is simple, yet Steve was ingenious with every aspect of the design. The airplane looked modern then and still does today. Some modifications have been made, only to improve on the original airframe.
