Here you'll find out all about the Digital Domain, a place that most are calling the "Secret Mountain Stage". Located in the Mountains of WV, in Preston County, the Digital Domain provides a HI-TECH musician friendly venue for UPCOMING National and Regional bands. As with most "Underground" places, There are NO signs, The Clientele is a "SELECTED" Clientele. That means that you have had to be personally invited or brought in by someone that has already been here.

What The Digital Domain is NOT
The Digital Domain is NOT a Dance CLUB, But dancing abounds...The Digital Domain is NOT a BAR, But there's usually plenty of your favorite beverages on hand... The Digital Domain is NOT a Hotel/Motel, But many bands stay over for the night... The Digital Domain is NOT a Restaurant, But the food is fantastic... The Digital Domain is NOT a Recording Studio, But some of the best Live Recordings are done here... The Digital Domain is NOT a Film Studio, But some of the best film footage comes from here... The Digital Domain is NOT a high paying gig, But some bands have made more here than anywhere... What The Digital Domain IS
First and Foremost it is Ed & Jana's HOME...The Digital Domain is a GATHERING PLACE for MUSIC LOVERS and kindred spirits... The Digital Domain is a refuge for bands on the road in PA. WV. MD. VA. and Ohio... The Digital Domain is a great place to get a live recording... The Digital Domain is the BEST place to network and GIG SWAP for bands... The Digital Domain is a place that creativity abounds... According to BMI, ASCAP, Sony Records, TNN, & the Nashville Entertainment Association some of the TOP 20 UNSIGNED
BANDS IN AMERICA have played at the Digital Domain. The Main Auditorium is 6000 square feet, seats 150 and has a capacity
of 275, so there's plenty of room for dancing. The Stage is a 40 by 15 foot stage with about 12 foot of the length taken up by the
recording studio's isolation room. Tapers are welcomed and appreciated. Tapers from as far as New York, North Carolina,
Washington D.C.and Ohio frequent the Domain. The Digital Domain is NOT "Genre Specific" but focuses on original music.
You must be able to perform at least 45 minutes of original music to be considered. WE PROMOTE ORIGINAL MUSIC! Covers are permitted
AFTER the taping. The Main Concert Room is acoustically SWEEEEEET and takes those of us old enough to remember, back to the days of the psychedelic colored, parachuted, ceilings. The walls have been covered with over 14 inches of acoustic foam and baffled opposing walls create an acoustically great room!. There is no alcohol SOLD at the Domain, however, a Liberal and Responsible BYOB policy has always worked well here. Smoking IS permitted, BUT, we ask you make a concentrated effort to keep it to a minimum. The emphasis here is on Music and The Arts and a good time for all (even the Non-Smokers). There is a writers corner located in the back of the venue for our friends and guests from JAMBASE.COM (Aaron Hawley) JAMLIVE.ORG( Joel King ) The Digital Domain (Matt Trout) , WVMUSICSCENE.COM and "THE MARQUEE"of The Dominion Post. There is a Hi Res 14 FOOT LARGE SCREEN, and Closed Circuit TV fed by 5 SONY Digital Hi-8 night vision cameras in the back of the room. So, even seats in the back of the room can enjoy an "up front" stage presence performance of their favorite groups. WE PROMOTE LIVE MUSIC, you can help! We really love whistlers here:) The first artist performs a 45 minute set and is Video taped and recorded "LIVE" We then break for 20 minutes and setup the stage for the next group. The second 45 minute show is video taped and recorded. After the second show if there are open mic candidates, we go "open" for 30 minutes. There may be up to 3 "opens" registered. Each will receive 10 minutes. If there are no "Opens" registered for the night, the 2 "Features" alternate sets. It has become somewhat of a tradition for both groups to invite any up on stage for the Grand Jam of the night. This has been as short as one song ie.. .( 7 Bridges Road ) and as long as a 42 minute free for all progressive jam session. The Brett Cain Band & friends still hold the record! The Artisan Gallery is a 1000 square foot, 101 year old room with the original metal ceilings, chandeliers and mirrored nocturnal sea walls. Overstuffed large couches offer a comfortable conversation pit for meeting friends, a glass of wine, contemplating art or a good old shot of Jeagarmeister. Also the best place to get your CD autographed during the breaks. Its also been known to be the "after-hours" jam room for many of the musicians that stay over in the Private 5 star accommodations on the top floor. All of this is tucked away in a small rural Appalachian town called Reedsville, West Virginia. 13 miles outside of Morgantown and from WVU. 3 hours from Cleveland, Washington D.C.,Virginia and Charleston and only an hour from Pittsburgh and Maryland and Just 15 minutes from Morgantown,WV., The Digital Domain is the best place in West Virginia to hear "LIVE MUSIC" |
