CLPOC Board & Community July 6, 2004 On June 30th, 2004 I announced my resignation from the Finance Committee. I would like to offer an explanation. First of all, and foremost, I disagree with the action the board took in this situation. The letter issued by the board June 26th offered no plausible explanation. What, indeed, is this so called "NEW DIRECTION"? I guess it follows that if under Michael we moved forward and upward, that the new direction is backward and downward! If a reasonable cause exists I believe the community is due an explanation to justify the spending of approximately $100 thousand dollars. Secondly, where is the data that shows Michael is not well thought of by the MAJORITY of Canadian Lakers. I believe that if you would poll the community you would find the MAJORITY find Michael to be an excellent General Manager and that he could continue to be effective in his position. He has also contributed greatly to relations between the CLPOC & the Development Co. He has also been pro-active in improving our relationships with the surrounding communities. Did the board review Michael’s performance reviews from previous board’s? I believe, I know, that they would find that he was rated extremely well by all. I would also like to present a few facts about the financial results during Michael’s Tenure.
In closing I again believe the board did not act responsibly and if the barn door is not completely closed, lets rehire Michael. Sincerely, Dick Treharne Send me an e-mail if you have any questions and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
