ellee ven would never have thought her pet project would be a critic’s
pick, but since her April 2007 release YOUCANBUYME she’s got heads
nodding and toes tapping. Nominated for 2007 POP ARTIST OF THE YEAR,
INDEPENDENT CD OF THE YEAR & FOR VIDEO OF THE YEAR at the South Bay
Music Awards and for Dance Song of the Year at the Los Angeles Music Awards,
she’s beginning to see the light.
YOUCANBUYME
is an admitted indulgence fusing dance jams and ballads created producers
Reggie Dozier (Outkast, Joss Stone & Justin Timberlake), DJ SWAMP
(Beck's DJ from 1996-2000 and contributor to albums by Kid Rock, The
Crystal Method & Morcheeba), Antony Lee, DJ Solange, Trypsin &
Prodéje. “My
wish is to be less “genre specific’ as an artist and to put myself in
front of different audiences”.
Creating
a total experience for her fans, ellee ven stands firm that art has the
power to move the masses. After a small amount of touring, ellee ven
wanted to be billed with artists who she thought were like minded, to
create an event that she would want to go to and in 2001, the first GIVE
INTO THE GROOVE was held in Santa Monica, California. The benefit
features original art by gathering the best new and emerging independent
artists from the area in the name of a good cause.
After
five years, ellee ven’s annual Give Into The Groove event has enjoyed
increased success traveling the nation. With
the mantra “no gift is too big or too small”, the benefit’s goal is
to inform people about organizations in need.

ven has managed to hone
in on a genre all her own called “groovetonics”. “Thanks
to DJs, my vision of remaining open to all genres has become a reality.
People appreciate the power of melody and the ability for songs to
translate well in different genres and languages. It just comes down to
what sounds good.” ellee ven’s CD/Vinyl remix series titled PROJECT 11
helped introduce ellee ven to DJs and audiences worldwide. “DJs control
the play list… and they just want great songs”.

a mix of electronica, pop and rock. All of ellee ven’s releases

Connection, Campus Cicle, Billboard and has graced the
cover of Unsigned Music Magazine and Saludos Hispanos. ellee
ven’s music has charted on international DJ charts and radio. UNSIGNED
MUSIC MAGAZINE also nominated ellee ven for 2005 ARTIST OF THE YEAR and
her album FUNKY BOHEMIA for ALBUM OF THE YEAR.
