Jacqui Gilroy

Jacqui writes original rock songs and ballads, integrating captivating rhythms, syncopation, melodic blends between vocals and guitar, vocal harmonies and flute.

Jacqui has been in several projects in the past, ranging from punk/funk, rock/jazz, to having a strong backing role with "Going South", playing guitar and singing harmonies with Katy Cornell.

Her solo material is "like nothing I've ever heard before" (20 some people who were asked). It is hooky, original, incredibly melodic, and has complex rhythms that separate it from the majority of the popular sound. At the same time, some say they hear molecules of many popular musicians.

Songs are written from a soulful perspective, reflecting the emotion of the human journey...transforming it through sound. Jacqui's songs are supported by a band of bass (Chris Vena), drums (Kelly Mynes), and, and second guitar (Blair Maman)...all of whom are seasoned, talented musicians with their own unique writing style that bring out the truth of each song through their unique expression.
