the 2006 ROCK ALTERNATIVE ARTIST OF THE YEAR by the L.A. Music Awards,
this group of hard hitting girls have just gotten started.
Fronted by Midwest transplant, Angela Ueber, Leda Atomica's sound rocks
the stage and reaches vocal dynamics few can compare to. Using her stage
experience from previous band endeavors, Angela is not afraid to take
control and drive this band to the top.
Hints of her influences - 90's chick rock like
Veruca Salt, Concrete Blonde, and Elastica - swarm the guitar driven
tracks of their music.
Bassist Marika Tjelios hails from Montreal but now
calls Los Angeles home. This classically trained pianist and Berklee
Graduate, has composed music for ringtones, commercials, industrial videos
and short films. Marika's past credits also include touring and recording
with Jariya, Sue Medley, Gogh Van Go, Men Without Hats and Melissa Ferrick.
Her fluid bass lines evoke a hypnotic, yet solid drive to Leda Atomica's
music.
Behind the kit is a singer/songwriter from the
Florida Keys. Jen adds depth to Leda Atomica not only on the drums, but
also with her songwriting skills and background vocal talents.
Rounding out the 4-some is guitarist Janel Jones.
Self taught, quiet yet deadly tones pour out of her amp and into the
melodic web that is Leda Atomica. Born and bred on Brit pop, she is sure
to be recognized not just because she is a chick on guitar.
Leda Atomica's talent is not to be questioned.
People will continue to stop and take notice.
