Rounded Rectangle: Annually, over 200,000 people in the US alone are diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. Brain tumors are the second leading cause of cancer death in males ages 20-29 and the fifth leading cause of cancer death in females ages 20-39. From 1974 to 1976, 22% of brain tumor patients lived five years. In 1992-1998, that rose to 32%. Ongoing research keeps the survival rate rising. Brain tumor research continues to be under funded, and the cure rate for most brain tumors is significantly lower than that for many other types of cancer. Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center (UMBTC)

Proceeds from this fundraising activity benefit Marquette General Foundation, and are earmarked exclusively for the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center at Marquette General Hospital.
