WELCOME TO THE
FOOT HILLS DISC
GOLF CLUB
Easley, SC

Proposed Easley Course

What is Disc Golf?

Disc golf is played like ball golf but with a "Frisbee" like disc.

The object is the same as ball golf, to make it from the tee to the "hole" in the lowest number of strokes or throws.

Disc golf games are shorter. Holes are measured in feet not yards.

Most courses are in public parks so playing is free.

Discs will cost around $8.00 each. You really only need one to play.

See the pictures page for a picture of a disc catcher.

Club meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at Palmetto Baking Co. at 7:30 P.M.

Why join the FDGC?

Benefits of membership:

It is not a requirement to join a club to play.

By joining you will be supporting the new course in Easley.

More members means we can get the course in quicker.

More members means more people to help install the course when the time comes.

As a member you will be eligible to play in inter-club tournaments and other club sponsored events.

You will also receive a mini disk with the club logo (when available).

A temporary hole has been installed at the J.B. Owens Sports complex, Home of the Big League World Series.  This is the first step to what is going to become a beautiful course.

Here are the hole sponsors we have so far...

Press Release:

The Augusta Disc Golf Association announces that a new disc golf course has been approved for Lake Olmstead Park in Augusta, Georgia.18 Innova DisCatcher targets with inner chains were ordered on July 26th and will be installed sometime in mid August. The Park is located just 3 blocks from the Augusta National Golf Club and features large mature trees on manicured rolling terrain. There will be a recreational player friendly layout for everyday play and a much tougher championship layout for tournaments. A plush practice putting area will also be installed just behind tee no. 1.

The Lake Olmstead Disc Golf Course will host the "Hall of Fame Classic" on May 30 - June 1, 2003. It will be one of only 11 events that will comprise the inaugural PDGA National Pro Tour next year. This new tier of events will showcase the sports top professional players and will be televised nationally by DiscTV. The Augusta-Richmond County Recreation and Parks Department has pledged their full support to ensure the success of the 3 day event.

Lake Olmstead aerial photo - Lake Olmstead is the large body of water at the southeastern corner of the photo. The course winds it way along the eastern shore of the lake. The Augusta National Golf Club can be seen just to the northwest of the lake.
Tournament Clubhouse - The Julian Smith Casino building sits on a hilltop overlooking the lake. Holes 16, 17 and 18 wind their way into a natural amphitheatre behind the building, which will serve as the tournament headquarters/clubhouse. The Disc Golf Hall of Fame Museum will be on display inside the building during the tournament.

Note: The Augusta-Richmond County Recreation and Parks Department has also tentatively approved a disc golf course for Diamond Lakes Regional Park in South Augusta.
