Lily: "I'm not going up there with a drunken pilot!"
Cochrane: "Well I'm sure as hell not going up there sober!"

In what has proven to be a rough stretch for NASA, not only has astronaut sobriety been called into question, but sabotage of ISS equipment is under investigation.

Detroit Tigers - American League Champions!

While the regular season and then the postseason didn't exactly have the best endings, the season as a whole was far beyond my expectations. My original hope was for the first winning season in a very long time. As Thanksgiving draws near, here are some of the highlights to be thankful for...
• Record: 95-67
• ALDS Champions
• ALCS Champions
• Team ERA: 3.84 (1st in MLB)
• Team Batting Avg: .274 (10th in MLB)
• Gold Gloves: Ivan Rodriguez, Kenny Rogers
• AL Rookie of the Year: Justin Verlander
• AL Manager of the Year: Jim Leyland
Eric Adelson summed things up well when he wrote the
following for ESPN The Magazine:
"So the city was happy with a winning team, delighted
with a contender, giddy with a playoff clinch, and
downright dizzy with a win over the almighty Yankees,
who will never ever know the wonder of an impossible
pennant."
Wii have liftoff!
Posted: September 16, 2006
The last two days have seen major Nintendo press
conferences in Japan, the U.S. and Europe. Now that
most of the Wii news I've been waiting for is official,
here is a quick rundown...
The Official Site: www.wii.com
Launch Date (U.S): November 19, 2006
Price: $250
Package includes:
• Wii console (white)
• 1 "Wiimote"
• 1 "Nunchuck" attachment
• AC Adapter
• Sensor bar
• Wii Sports (baseball, bowling, golf, tennis, boxing)
Noteworthy Titles:
• The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2006)
• Rayman: Raving Rabbids (2006)
• Red Steel (2006)
• Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007)
• Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2007)
• Super Mario Galaxy (2007)
• Mario Strikers Charged (2007)
• Batallion Wars 2 (2007)
• Call of Duty 3 (?)
• Far Cry: Vengeance (?)
My interest in the system is for the games, but as a part of Nintendo's strategy of appealing to a broader audience, the Wii will include a few extra features. Weather and news feeds are available at no additional cost. The SD card slot will allow the viewing of images on your telelvision (in addition to saving games). The Opera web browser is available for a price. These are all activites I would prefer use my PC for, but maybe this appeals to someone out there.
