Flower Ring Level: Beginner

Pink

Summer Rain
The Flower Ring is a big, shiny cocktail ring that is remarkably comfortable for its size.  The kit is suitable for beginning beaders.

With this pattern, you will stitch a Spinning Top Bead, add beads to embellish it, and then create a beaded wire band in the size of your choosing.  The colors of the beads in this kit range from rose to mauve to deep burgundy. The kit includes complete full-color instructions, and all of the materials you need to make one Flower Ring, except wire clippers and pliers. The pattern is 10 pages, including 40 illustrations and photographs.  We sell this kit for $32 and the pattern for $24.

The variations in this pattern teach you to make the beaded beads in the Embellished Spinning Top Earrings, as well as these bead-capped Embellished Spinning Top Beads.  Gwen has other bead-capped Embellished Spinning Tops in her gallery, and here is a necklace in the Guests' Gallery showing that variation.

Rivoli Bead Level: Advanced Beginner
Rivoli Sunflowers
The Rivoli Sunflower resembles a sparking flower in full bloom. The captured rivoli (a faceted crystal gemstone) has an attached bail than can be strung on a chain, cord or ring. The finished Rivoli Sunflower measures one inch in diameter, not including the bail. You can make a pendant from one Rivoli Sunflower for a simple necklace, or string 3 or even 5 pendants on a single strand of beads to really show off your jewels. You can also link 4 or 5 Rivoli Sunflowers together to make a dazzling bracelet.
The Rivoli Sunflower Pattern is suitable for advanced beginner beaders. In making a Rivoli Sunflower, you will use the Fringe Method, peyote stitch and herringbone weave. The pattern is 14 pages, including 49 full color illustrations and photographs. We sell the pattern alone for $36, and we have kits for each of the colors shown here, amethyst crystal, peridot crystal and orange topaz crystal, featuring Swarovski rivolis, for $42.

Gwen made a necklace using Rosebud Beaded Beads in Velvety Blue.  Florence made earrings colored to look like Rosebuds.  Florence also made a necklace using a close cousin of the Rosebud Beaded Bead.

The Rosebud Bead has a big sister! Check out this necklace  and this pendant that feature the Rosebud and her big sister, the Four of Spades.
Here is a necklace in our Guests' Gallery!

Rosebud Bead Level: Advanced
The Four of Spades beaded bead is suitable for advanced beaders. It resembles a flower bud with four spade motifs pointing towards each of the two holes of the beaded bead. In making the Four of Spades beaded bead, you will use the Fringe Method, and then embellish with several rounds of seed beads.

Both made with the Fringe Method, the Four of Spades beaded bead and the Rosebud beaded bead, make a nice set. The Four of Spades is the larger of the two beaded beads. Measuring 19mm by 23mm, it is a good size for the focus bead on a necklace or pendant. The pattern is 15 pages with 56 full color illustrations and photographs. We sell the pattern alone for $52 and kits in Velvety Blue and Wedding White for $60.

Gwen made a necklace and a pendant with the Four of Spades. They both also feature the Rosebud bead, which looks great with the Four of Spades because both designs involve the Fringe Method and both have roto-reflection symmetry.

El Cubo Level: Advanced

Ice Cubo

Pink Ice Cubo

Ripe Berry Cubo
El Cubo is probably our most tactile beaded bead.  The whole bead has a alluring springiness about it, and the small beads roll pleasingly between your finger tips.  El Cubo Bead is an intermediate/advanced pattern incorporating a variety of techniques and bead sizes.  The finished cubo bead measures about 2 cm on a side.  The hole through the faces of the cubo is large enough to accommodate a thin chain or chord.  If strung on beading wire, the cubo can also be strung through the holes on the corners.  The 12 page pattern includes 43 full color illustrations and photographs.

The kit is available in the two color schemes shown here: Ice cubo (left), Pink Ice Cubo (center) and Ripe Berry Cubo (right).   Note that the Pink Ice Cubo uses the same colors as the Pink Barrel Bead Kit and matches the Cuboctohedron Kit.  We sell the kits for $42 and the pattern only for $36.

The instructions explain how to make both the bracelet and the earrings.

Seven Sisters Level: Intermediate

Golden Rose
Frosty Blue Cluster
Garnet Glass Cluster
The Seven Sisters Bead Cluster is suitable for intermediate beaders.  Measuring just over an inch in diameter, the Seven Sister Bead Cluster resembles a glistening glass chrysanthemum.  This design incorporates a variety of stitches in uncommon combinations to deliver a radially symmetric cluster of beads.  Stitches include right angle weave, peyote stitch, fringe, and a technique that we call the Lace Overlay.  A web of beads on the back allows you to add a cord or chain to the finished cluster and wear it as a pendant.  Add a pin back and it becomes a broach.  A hair clip lets it adorn your hair.

The pattern has 13 pages of instructions, including 26 full color illustrations and photographs. Several variations are shown.  We sell kits to make the Golden Rose, Frosty Blue cluster and the Garnet Glass cluster shown here for $74 each and the pattern alone for $52.

Sea Star Level: Advanced
The Sea Star bead cluster is suitable for advanced beaders. Measuring just over three centimeters in diameter, the Sea Star Bead Cluster incorporates a large array of bead sizes in a two sided pendant. As one of the beaded beads in the Cluster Series, the Sea Star, uses a three-dimensional variation of right angle weave, over which a lacework of beads is added.  The instructions even show you how to use wire and a jump ring to convert a Sea Star into a pendant.

The pattern has 11 pages of instructions, including 41 full color illustrations and photographs. Several color schemes are shown.  We have patterns available for $68 and kits in the color scheme shown for $88.

Time Machine Level: Advanced
Time Machine Bronze Age
Time Machine Bronze Age
Bronze Age Time Machine
The Time Machine beaded bead uses the Cluster Method and is suitable for advanced beaders. The finished beaded bead resembles a baroque decorative egg. The surface of this bead is speckled with precisely placed drop beads and a layered lace work of seed beads. One makes a nice focal bead, or for a more elaborate necklace, combine the Time Machine with other cluster beads such as the Double Rose Window or the Octahedral Cluster. The finished Time Machine beaded bead measures approximately 27mm x 24mm or just over an inch long. Sizes vary with bead choices. The hole is wide enough to accommodate a thin cord or chain.

The pattern is 19 pages with 65 full color illustrations and photographs. At the end of the pattern, we discuss several variations. We sell kits in the Bronze Age color scheme for $88 and the pattern only for $68.

Double Daisy Chain Level: Beginner

Double Daisy Chain

The Double Daisy Chain is a stitch that we designed to coordinate well with our beaded beads.  The small loops of seed beads echoes the lines of seed beads visible in our Cluster Series and our Filled Net series of beaded beads.
Gwen made a necklace and another necklace using the Double Daisy Chain Stitch and featuring the Sea Star Bead. See a three-stranded bracelet in our Guest Gallery.

Three Drop Earrings Level: Intermediate
The Three Drop Earrings pattern is suitable for intermediate beaders. The earrings measure approximately 5 centimeters long, and provide an nice alternative to wire wrapped chandelier earrings. The earrings use a variation on the Double Outline Stitch, which we first developed in our pattern for the Double Daisy Chain. The Double Outline Stitch makes these earrings stiff enough to hold their shape, rather than flexible, as flat beadwork tends to be.

The pattern has 11 pages of instructions, including 28 full color illustrations and photographs. We have patterns available for $36, and kits for a pair of earrings in Blue or Summer Rain for $44. Ear wires are gold filled or sterling silver; styles may vary.

Desert Rose

The Lotus Beaded Bead resembles a glistening flower in full bloom. The finished Lotus can measure any size, depending upon what size and how many drop beads you use. The Lotus in the step photographs measures 43mm wide and 20mm thick, making it a good size for a large focal piece for a necklace.
Because there is such a wide variety of shapes and sizes of drop beads, the 11 pages of instructions with 44 photos and illustrations guide you through a general process, in addition to giving you an exact recipe to follow for the Lotus Beads we sell as kits. In making the Lotus Beaded Bead, you will use peyote stitch. The Lotus Pattern is suitable for intermediate beaders. We sell the pattern for $60 and kits for $80.

Cuboctahedron Level: Advanced Beginner

The Cuboctahedron Bead pattern is suitable for advanced beginners. We make kits for the color scheme shown here, which includes core beads made from natural quartz crystal.  The seed beads are matte metallic glass and the highest quality, gold-plate, seed beads that we could find, and we picked the colors to match our Barrel Bead kits perfectly.  Because the finished beads are small, each kit has all the materials necessary to make four Cuboctahedron Beads.  We sell the kits for $30 and the pattern alone for $18.

Fairy Chrysalis Level: Advanced

Pink muscavite
The Fairy Chrysalis is an advanced project. The rich organic form of the Fairy Chrysalis reminds us of a magical cocoon from which a winged fairy or a beautiful butterfly could emerge. Or perhaps the chrysalis could be an ancient seed pod lost within an enchanted rainforest.  In these instructions, we will show you how to make a Fairy Chrysalis, a pendant constructed entirely from beads and thread.  The finished pendant shown is 55 mm by 25 mm by 11 mm and was sewn around a 40 mm core bead.
The pattern is 13 pages, including 56 full color illustrations and photographs. We sell the pattern alone for $36.

We do not sell a complete kit for this design, but we offer the pattern with two natural stone core beads that we will choose for you for $42.
