I had a chance to buy the last new '97 Sportster shipped to Huntsville.  This is my way of
making sure I get a new bike; I uncrated it.

My new Sportster at home after a 50 mile ride.  Something had to be done about those quiet mufflers!

Me and my Sportster, more than a saddle full.

This bike became know as the Pack Mule because of  all the bags I put on her.  Before I sold her she had saddlebags, a T-bag, a Lazy Rider bag, a tank bra with pouch and a windshield.  I called it the XLHTC.  I installed CCI forward controls,  SE mufflers, SE air cleaner and rejetted the carb.  In six months we traveled almost 5,000 miles.  I miss the bike but my 5' 10"  300 lb. frame was a little bit cramped so I decided to get the FLT when it became available.  This is her the day she left.
