Here is some pics of the finished 65" Scarab.

This boat after much work ended up on the shelf, due to balance problems. To much weight. So thats the reason for me going to a cat design instead. But due to my interest in building my '34 Ford coupe, its been years since I have done any work on the models. Just thought I would pass on these photos of an idea. I do plan to build the cat, and the 1/4 scale '34 Ford someday. And I still have interest in building a 1/4 scale Ford 302ci engine too.

Here is some pics of the mold construction.

I got the original dimensions for this hull from my 28" electric Robbe Scarab.

Now strakes are made of balsa and glued on. Duratec primered, smoothed and waxed. Gelcoat sprayed on then many layers of resin and glass layed on this.

Now I have a female fiberglass mold. Many hulls can be made from this mold.
