Year of Wild Magic, 14 Present Reckoning, 24th of Eleasias

My Love,

My new companions and I fought our first battle together this morning, and we suffered our first loss. Unfortunately it was one of those we could least afford to lose that died, the priest of Tymora that I mentioned in my last letter. It seems that the luck she had allotted to him ran out this morning. I can only hope that that this does not leave us too short of healing.

I think I may have trouble adjusting to my new life in some ways. Our battle this morning was to destroy a large skeleton that had killed what appears to have been a band of adventurers and was endangering the road. Some of my companions seem to feel they have rights to the property of these fallen, although as we know this is not the law. I am now in a quandary; I don’t feel completely comfortable turning a blind eye, but my life will depend upon my relationship with these people. This is something for me to think over for the next few days.

Most outspoken in this vein is one Torstag of Tethyr, who claims to have once worked to uphold the law of that land. As if Tethyr has had proper laws since they overthrew their monarchy and exchanged it for anarchy. Now I think about him I wonder about his position with our group. He joined us by arrangement with Na’tally’s uncle and not through the Guild as the rest of us did. Is he even a Guild member I wonder? Never the less he appears to claim equal rights with the rest of the group and none have yet queried this. Something else for me to think about then is whether to broach this subject ...

Yours forever
Alemnia
