Purpose

The Imperial Klingon Starship Dark Omen (maQmIgh in Klingon) was started in 1999 as an online role-playing experience based on the Star Trek genre. Under the guidance from the very beginning by Captain (HoD) Veqlargh, the IKS maQmIgh has prospered and continued to hold Sims (Simulations) since its first day in 1999.

Overview

Under orders from Chancellor Martok, a vessel was to be commissioned to express the exceptional relations between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire following the Dominion War. To serve this, the vessel's staff would be a combination of Federation and Klingon officers. The IKS maQmIgh would accept Federation officers, and the USS Stromberg would accept Klingon officers. Over time, several dozen other vessels on both sides were chosen to participate in the program and project fell from view of the Imperial News Network and the Federation Information Service. When threat of invasion arose from in the Beta Quadrant, the exchange program included nearly 3% of the Klingon Defense Corps and 6% of Starfleet. The Alpha Quadrant Alliance was once again called together to turn back the Dominion and the Oculons of the former Oculon Corporate Union of Worlds, a group later learned to be under the control of a Founder and his Dominion fleet lost in the Bajoran Wormhole during what is now being called the first Dominion War. The IKS maQmIgh was placed on the front lines of this war and performed admirally. This conflict was ended only with the intervention by the Organians, who called upon the Interstellar Concordium to subdue the rest of the Alpha Quadrant and end the bickering Klingon-Federation-Romulan governments. The ISC's slow advance through Federation territory and stagnation of the Dominion fleet has led the maQmIgh to move with its flotilla to the head of the defense. Today the maQmIgh serves the Klingon Empire with the same distinction it did since its commission. To date there have been three ships that have carried the name maQmIgh. The most recent is the third of only three Klingon Carriers in existence. The jey'nas class Battle Carrier hosts a squadron of fighters and bristles with weapons.

How to Play

     Be sure to view our
Promotion Points System and Positions Defined sections to become more familiar with how we play. The IKS maQmIgh hosts a sim every Saturday at 5pm PST (8:00pm EST). Ask FSF Veqlargh or FSF JMM for a link if you are interested in seeing the sim.

How to Join

Simply click the Federation Sim Fleet image in the bottom frame, which will take you to the SB254 web site. There you must create an account, then create a character and request the maQmIgh as the sim you want for both choices.
Please be advised that in order to advance to the rank of Sogh (Lieutenant) you must also submit a character bio. If you want to know what we are looking for please check out the Crew Manifest. It is worth 10 points, and worth the time to let others know a little bit more about your character. Thanks.

My Command Policy

I believe that the simmers make the sim happen, without simmers there can be no sim. I like to keep a friendly atmosphere on the ship, although in sim my character will be as Klingon as the next character.

I keep a strict open door policy. What this means to you is that if you have a problem either with the sim or another player in the sim you can come to me and I will work with you to solve the problem. If you have a problem with me you can of course take it up higher to one of my superiors such as FSF Jon but I would hope that things would not come to that. I like to think that I can admit when I'm wrong and it's pointed out to me.

I also like to promote simmer input about the sim and plotline. If you have ideas on how to make the sim better or improve the plot line and story then I am open to any suggestions. However, any sub-plots must be run through myself or FSF Jmm so that it can be evaluated to determine if it will interfere with the progress of the sim.
