Notes: Designed during the Dominion war, the jey'naS Battle Carrier was designed for unparalleled combat readiness and support in the field. The jey'naS was a redesign of the Negh'Var Battleship. She was made one point five times as large as the Negh'Var and redesigned internally to allow for more powerful weaponry and room to fit, launch, and service three squadrons of fighters. Her powerful weaponry allows her to hold her own in almost any situation and the fighters she carries allows her to support Klingon ships in the field in a way no other Klingon support vessel had been able to do in the past.
The main armament of the jey'naS is comprised of a pair of the largest disruptor cannons available, the largest such weapons ever built. Although these weapons have a terrible firing arc that allows only a limited forward firing capability. These two, weapons allow the vessel to deal with heavily shielded space installations, fixed defensive systems and planetary arrays. The jey'naS also sports nine mark XVIII pulse disruptor cannons and nine mark XII disruptor cannons which have much better firing arcs and allows the vessel to combat other vessels on its own.
Because the jey'naS is not as agile as its cousin the Negh'Var she relies heavily on her squadron of fighters to defend her from far more agile vessels that could literally run rings around her without getting hit. These fighters are the first small craft ever developed by the Empire for the specific purpose of fighting.
The jey'naS is equally well equipped for defensive operations. The shield systems are based on those used in the defense platforms protecting the Klingon home world, and the hull itself is constructed of ablative armor plating. The structural integrity field is also rated at more than triple the normal standard, allowing it to considerably reinforce the armored hull and provide a powerful backup shield should the main shields fail.
Her primary role is battle field support and she may be required to be away from starbases and supply chains for extended periods of time. So she houses enough fighter parts to completely rebuild the squadrons from the ground up three times over.
She was scheduled to launch in 2377 but the Dominion war ended earlier than expected and she was put on hold until the Empire could recover from the war. The jey'naS went into full production soon after the second Dominion war began in late 2379. The IKS jey'naS has already been launched to support the front lines near the Cardassian home world along with the second and the third. The fourth is finished but is awaiting the arrival of its fighter squadrons due to complications in fighter production from the loss of a key production facility.
