MEETING ROLES
PRESIDENT - Conducts the business portion of the meeting.
INVOCATION - Brief uplifting address to set the tone of the meeting.
JOKE - Joke or humorous story.
WORDMASTER - Selects a word to improve members' vocabulary and notes its correct use during speeches.
TIMER - Gives time limit signals to speakers and records their times. Counts votes and fills out award certificates.
GRAMMARIAN - Notes both incorrect and good use of words and phrases. Counts "ahs" and "ums".
TOASTMASTER - Runs the entire program for the evening and makes sure the meeting schedule is maintained.
Introduces the Table Topics Master and the prepared speakers.
Provides appropriate transitions between speeches.
TABLE TOPICS MASTER - Prepares topics for members to deliver impromptu speeches for approximately 2 minutes.
EVALUATORS - Each evaluator evaluates one of the prepared speakers.
GENERAL EVALUATOR - Assigns evaluators for each prepared speaker. In the first half of the meeting, evaluates all parts of the meeting, beginning with the President. In the second half of the meeting, introduces each evaluator and evaluates the evaluations
PREPARED SPEAKERS - Each speaker delivers a prepared speech, usually based on requirements outlined in one of the Toastmaster manuals.
