Michelle, Powder Keg's lead (emeritus), is a second-generation barbershopper, following in the footsteps of her mother. In addition to being a talented singer, she is a renowned hypnotist. In 2008 her quartet Fiddlestix won the Region 23 competition. Fiddlestix was the first quartet whose point total actually exceeded the maximum possible. That caught the attention of barbershoppers far and wide.
Michelle is currently the Secretary of Musical Efficiency for the State of Georgia, and is considering running for governor in the next general election on a platform of "harmony for all the people."

Michelle Shoemaker is originally from Birmingham, Alabama, where she was a member of the Huffman High School Class of '94. She went on to graduate from the University of Montevallo in 1998.
She is an actual descendent of barbershop royalty. Her mother, Portia Little, was part of the 1971 Sweet Adelines International Quartet Champions, Bron's Tones.
Michelle was originally a member of the Harmony Hills Chapter of Sweet Adelines in Birmingham, where her mother was director, but joined the Song of Atlanta Show Chorus after moving to Georgia. If her job at a law firm doesn't keep her busy enough, her husband Keith and the family pets will.
