Project Experience
GWC conducts surveys and prepares documentation for threatened, endangered
and sensitive species such as the northern spotted (NSO) and great grey
owls, marbled murrelets, goshawk, marten, amphibians, reptiles and other
T&E species throughout northern California and southern Oregon. GWC
evaluates and prepares maps of critical habitats, prepares compliance reports
and consults with foresters and landowners regarding Endangered Species
Act requirements. GWC wrote one of the two northern spotted owl
HCP's prepared in California and recently completed the only HCP written
for the endangered Point Arena Mountain Beaver. GWC works
closely with foresters, developers and project managers from project inception
to completion, insuring that all surveys and mitigation are completed as
required for NSO and other target species. For NSO and other listed species,
this includes completing "no take" consultations for clients. GWC
is typically involved in 60-70 T&E projects per year.
