Editing the system.ini part of the registry. When error messages occurr, especially after programs are uninstalled improperly, edit the system.ini file. Go to run and type sysedit and go to the sys.ini tab to bring it to the front. Click the search menu, and click find. Type the name of the missing file, minus its file extension in the find what field and click okay. Delete any matches this search turns up, and if needed search for more matches by pressing the f3 key. After deleting all matches, restart the computer. Regedit. To edit the system registry, type in the run dialog box, regedit, and then click okay. Click my computer, and then click the edit menu and click find. Type the file name, minus the extention, and use f3 to search for matches. Delete them, and then restart your computer.
