Address Book and Favorites! If you're like most people, the listings in your e-mail address book and your Favorites took some time to gather. Losing all of those e-mail addresses or Favorite web sites would be a shame. That's why it's important to make a backup just in case something happens to your PC. You can also use the backup to transfer these files from one computer to another computer. --> Outlook Express: Just open Outlook Express and click on Addresses. Then click Help and About Address Book. You'll find the path to the address file in the "File:" box. Follow that path in Windows Explorer. These files typically use your user name and a .wab extension. For instance, Joe Smith's might be joesmith.wab. --> Eudora: Go to the main Eudora folder on your hard drive and look for nndbase.txt and nndbase.toc. These files are your default address book. Save your address book files along with your other personal data when you do a backup. You might be able save this file to a floppy disk if the file is small enough. --> Internet Explorer Favorites: Click the Start button and then, Find (Search in Windows XP). Put the word "favorites" in the search box and be sure that you are searching on the main drive (usually C:). When you find the folder, simply copy it to a safe place.
