Who is Gary Wick?
Known as “one of
the funniest ventriloquists that you never heard of,” Gary Wick has spent
the past 20 years performing his hilarious comedy ventriloquist act across the U.S.A. and around the world. He has
performed ventriloquism for all types of audiences including comedy clubs,
corporate events, rock and country concerts, fairs, theme parks, and cruise
ships. He has been a feature act with national headliners and has performed in
Vegas. From early on in his career he had learned to perform clean comedy when
agents had put him on the road for a year to perform for schools and fairs.
Yes, he can perform for audiences with kids sitting in the front row and no one
has to worry about the language or topic getting “salty.” His
comedy is a mix of fast, funny one-liners, contemporary social observations,
sight gags, impressions and incredible vocal sound effects. The illusion that Gary creates on stage with his
ventriloquism and puppet characters is so strong that the audience soon forgets
that Gary is the voice and they put all of their attention on
Clarence Duck and The Old Man. The topics that Clarence Duck and The Old Man
discuss range from airlines losing luggage to snoring. One of the highlights of
his show is his trademark audience participation where Gary uses volunteers from the audience
to sing an “opera tune.” Critics and fans agree: Gary’s comedy is funny, smart and
CLEAN.

Need more information? Here
are some FAQ’s:
1)
We’re going to have mostly adults in the
audience but there might be some children present. Is Gary’s show
appropriate for them?
Absolutely. Gary performs clean comedy. Kids are
welcome.
2)
We’re thinking of hiring Gary for a
corporate event where the audience is going to be mostly children and their
parents. Can Gary do such a show?
Yes. Gary delivers clean comedy for adults and
kids.
3)
Where can I see Gary perform?
Gary performs mostly for private corporate
events, outdoor concerts and cruise ships. The quickest way to see him perform
in front of a live audience is to click on the link above and view his short
video promo. This promo also includes his trademark audience participation
routine.
4)
How big of a stage does Gary need?
The size of the stage depends upon the size of
the audience. But a good rule of thumb is that the stage or platform should be
elevated one or two feet from the floor and should be sturdy and wide enough to
support four adults for the audience participation.
5)
Does Gary or his puppet friends ever embarrass
people in the audience?
Gary makes sure that any audience participation
is done in the spirit of clean fun. Gary has had 20 years of using audience
participation in his ventriloquism shows and does not ridicule, embarrass or
demean members of the audience. His trademark audience participation routine of
having volunteers sing an opera song is considered to be one of the funniest
routines today, and is requested by the clients.
6)
