Gary Wick is a ventriloquist-comedian.

How did Gary get started in comedy?

Gary Wick has a college degree. Really. He has had successful careers in teaching, electronic engineering and sales & marketing. He actually had jobs with pension plans, medical and dental benefits, paid vacations and a private office with a big window that overlooked a park. So what happened? Why did Gary throw away all of that good education, good paying jobs and job security to travel the rough and insecure road of comedy? It’s a case of a hobby taking him further than what he had imagined. He wrote and performed comedy material at night while holding down an engineering job in the day. When he sold his first batch of jokes to a Las Vegas hypnotist for $25, and was often asked to be an opening act when headliners came to town, Gary got the idea that maybe he could earn a living with comedy. So, he quit his job, packed his bags and went out on the comedy road. For the past twenty years, Gary has traveled throughout the United States and the world performing for corporations, national conventions, fairs and festivals, cruise ships, colleges and comedy clubs. He's been an opening act for many national headliners.

Who is Gary Wick?

Known as “one of the funniest ventriloquists that you never heard of,” Gary Wick has spent the past 20 years performing his hilarious comedy ventriloquist act across the U.S.A. and around the world. He has performed ventriloquism for all types of audiences including comedy clubs, corporate events, rock and country concerts, fairs, theme parks, and cruise ships. He has been a feature act with national headliners and has performed in Vegas. From early on in his career he had learned to perform clean comedy when agents had put him on the road for a year to perform for schools and fairs. Yes, he can perform for audiences with kids sitting in the front row and no one has to worry about the language or topic getting “salty.” His comedy is a mix of fast, funny one-liners, contemporary social observations, sight gags, impressions and incredible vocal sound effects. The illusion that Gary creates on stage with his ventriloquism and puppet characters is so strong that the audience soon forgets that Gary is the voice and they put all of their attention on Clarence Duck and The Old Man. The topics that Clarence Duck and The Old Man discuss range from airlines losing luggage to snoring. One of the highlights of his show is his trademark audience participation where Gary uses volunteers from the audience to sing an “opera tune.” Critics and fans agree: Gary’s comedy is funny, smart and CLEAN.
