It is the dawn of a new era. California has just sworn allegiance to the new government of the Mexican Insurgency. But this new regime only means more trouble for Zorro. While saving a man from the clutches of a kidnaping and extortion ring, he learns that Diego de la Vega is to be their next victim. But the task of saving Diego gets harder when his real adversary turns out to be a witch-hunting priest who uses fear and secrecy to seize land in the name of the cross.

Can our hero save, not just himself, but all of California from a resurgence of the Spanish Inquisition—especially when his newest ally turns out to be a witch? Can magic free him from a tangled web of deceit and political intrigue?

Welcome to the home of Inquisition, a new online novel based on the character of el Zorro, the fox.

This story may not be suitable for younger readers. In addition, it is set more firmly in California history than some readers might expect. So it cannot be reconciled exactly with any established fictional time line.

The character of el Zorro was created by the late Johnston McCully. Some of the characters depicted in this story are owned by Disney Studios, and Zorro himself is now the property of Zorro Productions, Inc. The author does not mean to profit in any way from the use of these characters but only to borrow them in hopes of entertaining both herself and the reader.

Since this story is set in a specific historical period, some actual historical figures are mentioned. Most of the characters depicted here are, of course, the sole property of the author. However, any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is purely unintentional.

Hope you enjoy!
