Ramya and Lateef

Love and Marriage...

Despite the old adage, never date anyone you meet at a club, that’s exactly where Lateef and I met. At the Hacienda, Chicks and Salsa night in the Spring of 2001. We dated for one more year in Reno and continued dating long distance for another 2 years until I graduated and moved to Las Vegas last summer.

Lateef actually proposed me in the fall of 2002 right after I turned 21. He did it before a crowd of 10,000 people at the Battle of the Bands. It was very surprising and very romantic. For those of you who might not have seen the infamous picture, here it is..

Ramya’s Story..

Hi everyone! Most of you probably remember me as the girl who is always sleeping, and well, nothing has changed. What can I say, I like my eight hours. Anyway, for those of you who don’t know, I am currently living in my first condo that I purchased with Lateef earlier this year. I am a graduate assistant at UNLV’s new School of Public Health and am working on getting my MPH with an emphasis in Biostatistics. I should be graduating next spring and will pursue my PhD soon thereafter. I also work  at Wells Fargo Bank, so if you ever need free money orders, or overdraft fees waived, I’m your girl.

I met Lateef in the spring of 2001, and despite the fact he is 10 months younger than me, I’ve never met anyone more mature. It is amazing to watch Lateef work a crowd. I’ve also turned him into a sucker for animals. We have one Pomeranian Carmello and our newest addition to the family is our kitten Carmen. The four of us have a lot of fun, but  I can’t wait to make it official this summer.

Lateef Says...

For those of you who don't know me too well you’ve missed the boat, train, and airplane. Nonetheless, let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in Richmond Virginia and moved to Las Vegas in 1991. I am in the process of completing my MPH Degree in Health Care Administration at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I currently work with the American Cancer Society as a Community Relationship Manager. I enjoy the wonderful summer days of Las Vegas and remain active in sports like tennis, basketball, snowboarding and golf, all while remaining an avid motorcyclist.

I met Ramya 4 years ago and was intrigued by her beauty. I got the chance to know her as an inspirational individual as we fostered a nurturing relationship. She was a major change in my life and she is the most intelligent, caring and beautiful person I have ever met.
