Gardening in

Western Massachusetts is a special place to garden. The counties of Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire provide a wide range gardening opportunities. We are primarily in USDA Hardiness Zone 5, with some colder areas and higher elevations slipping into Zone 4 and the lower parts of the Connecticut River Valley edging into Zone 6. We are also blessed with a large number of local growers and nurseries that specialize in plants which are acclimated to our area. This web site is devoted to the gardeners of Western Massachusetts and provides links to many of these local resources.
