As the teacher or " Sensei " actually meaning one who has gone through the experience before you, although I prefer to think of myself as a coach, I have been involved in martial arts for a good twenty years. I have attained ranks in 3 martial art systems namely Judo 2nd degree black belt, in which I have competed  since I was 13 year old, Shotokan karate san- kyu and Bu-Taijutsu 1st degree black belt. My line of work as a aircraft design engineer has taken me all over the U.S.A. and has given me the opportunity to train with a wide variety of teachers who were training at the  time under the Bujinkan Association of Japan  of Dr Massaki Hatsumi.  I  have been training in Bu-Taijutsu, as I prefer to refer to it, since 1985. I was there when it all started and it was very different from what it is now. When I received my Shodan I stopped seeking rank, for it is trivial to me, I prefer the knowledge instead, but  I admit rank has its privileges, like my military friends like to say. I train with my fellow clan members, I don't just teach, I am involved in the training myself.

My knowledge comes from all the years in this system, my curriculum from the many notes and material left to me by my teachers.

I have trained with the following teachers,
Larry Beaver, last I heard he still has a group but I was told that years ago
Dick Severance, still under the Bujinkan and has a group in Palm Bay Fl.
Shawn Havens, now  with Jinenkan and Fumio Manaka Sensei in Ohio.
Steven K Hayes,  now  with To shin do in Ohio
Bud Malstrom,  I believe he still under Bujinkan in Ga.
Butch Johnson, who was my last teacher, he died in 2004
Butch taught with an intensity not usually available anywhere else in the Taijutsu circles but admired by some under the same. It is from him I awakened to the real fight.

He was an ex military man retired, who had seen much combat and knew the chaos of reality.
I honor his memory under my Kamiza, he was my teacher and a friend.
I am teaching my two sons and some friends at the present time at a family dojo located in my garage. Any one that desires to learn or just train is welcome at out dojo. Our family method is a combination of all systems I have learned, and we keep it very real as a self defense method. I am offering to those who would seek it, training and friendship, I teach because by teaching I learn.

The clips and pictures shown in this website are only to show  whoever is interested, how we train, and what we do, nothing else. No sense in wasting anyone's time.

My name is Jake R. Perz, I am 47 years old and I reside in Fort Worth with Sara my wife of 22 years and my two sons Jason the oldest and Brian.

I welcome people of good honorable character and high standards of ethic to join me in a clan of practitioners.
