| 1. What exaclty does my $3,000 fee cover?
It pays for your residence, group counseling, peer support, staff on duty
24 hours a day, the cost of food and cleaning supplies, cable TV, local
phone service (Madison and DeForest only). The fee is payable at admission
and each month on that date. Fees can by paid in cash or by credit
card.
2. Can I bring pets to Georgia's Garden, Inc? No pets allowed. 3. Can my children live there too? No, the Garden is a facility that serves women only. It operates from the premise that women need a time out from their responsibilities in order to begin recovery so they can return to a productive lifestyle. 4. Is their bus service? No there is no bus service in Windsor. All clients are encouraged to call for rides to AA meetings in Madison. 5. How far is Windsor from Madison? We are approximately 7 miles north of Madison on Hwy. 51. 6. Who plans meals? Each individual chooses what they eat for Breakfast and Lunch. For dinner all residents eat together and one woman cooks each night. The staff and residents plan healthy reasonable meals and staff does grocery shopping each week. 7. What happens if I drink or slip up? You will be asked to leave the Garden for three days. Staff calls a family member or friend to pick you up. We meet with you on the fourth day to determine if you will be readmitted. The restriction process begins again. If there is a second relapse you will be discharged because we believe you need more intensive services. 8. What is the length of stay? Georgia's Garden Recovery House is not a 30- day program. Having said this, the length of stay is determined by individual needs. 9. Do I have to attend AA meetings? Yes. The fundamental principles of the house are based on the 12 steps and 12 traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous. 10. Can I bring my own TV? No. There are 2 television sets at Georgia’s Garden. TV is turned off during the day but clients are free to watch TV in the evenings. 11. How do I know if I qualify for the Garden? We ask that you have completed at least one course of primary treatment before you are admitted. We also ask that residents are here voluntarily, willingly and have surrendered to the disease of alcoholism. We accept adult women only and you must have a primary diagnosis of alcohol or drug dependence. 12. What is the structure for recovery during the day? We have structured day for both group recovery and indivdual growth, please see a typical day at the Garden. |
