  I. The Holy Spirit Has Power to Convict the World

     A. John 16:7-15 tells us that the Holy Spirit will reprove the world of:

         1. Sin committed- Lack of faith in Jesus ( they believe not on me)

         2. Righteousness forfeited- His resurrection and ascension prove His righteousness

         3. Judgment coming- The prince of this world is judged, who do you serve?

     B. The Spirit of Truth (Holy Spirit) has given us all truth

         1. Jesus promised He would guide them to all truth

         2. The Bible contains the whole counsel of God

     C. These things are demonstrated in Acts 2

         1. He (the Holy Spirit) convicted the Jews of their sin of denying Christ

         2. He reproved them for their rejection of Christ’s righteousness

         4. He convinced them of the coming judgment

         5. This was demonstrated in His revelation of truth through the apostles

II. Be Filled With the Spirit

      B. We will walk as the wise

      C. We will redeem well the time

      D. We will understand the will of the Lord

      I. Being filled with the Spirit means I am empty of myself (Illustration)

 III. Walk in the Spirit

      A. Gal. 5:16-17 if we walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh

      B. Our spirit must be in communion with the Holy Spirit, not the world

IV. Grieve Not the Holy Spirit

      A. Eph. 4:30-32 We can grieve the Holy Spirit by our actions
