Things Open in the Bible

Introduction:
    A. Are you "open" to God?
        1. We think of "open" as receptive
        2. If we are "open’ to God we will let Him in to our lives
    B. Are you willing to use the doors God opens to you?
    C. In the Bible we find things that were open, and how we can be open to God

I. Hands for Giving
    A. Deut. 15:7-8 God provides for the poor through the open hands of His people
        1. Before God commanded to give, He reminds where blessings come from
        2. He commanded to "open thy hand wide" (generous giving)
    B. If you were blessed at the same rate you give, how blessed would you be?
    C. We should look for opportunities to serve

II. Windows for Praying
    A. Daniel 6:10 Daniel was not ashamed or afraid to honor God
    B. Are your windows open?

III. Lips for Thanksgiving and Praise
    A. Psalm 51:14-15 David praised God for His mercy
    B. How do you praise God? Are your lips open?

IV. Door for Preaching the Gospel
    A. 2 Cor. 2:12 Paul looked for doors of opportunity that God sent Him
    B. Every day God opens doors for us to teach others
    C. Don’t shut the doors that God opens

V. Heart, for God’s Message
    A. Acts 16:14-15 God opened Lydia’s heart to the gospel
    B. God was able to open her heart because she had given it to God
    C. God can open your heart, if you will give it to Him

Conclusion:

Are you willing to be open to God? Jesus said:

"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Rev. 3:20)

Open up to Him, and let Him open your life for blessing
